More Organic Bedding Product Options at Vegas Market

Bedding retailers have greater access to organic bedding products, including Vegas Market introductions from the Specialty Sleep Association (SSA) membership, both in and outside of the organization’s World Market Center showroom, space C-1350.

For consumers who are serious about organic goods, ‘green washing’ is not an option. Taking a leadership role in response to this consumer demand, the SSA, which launched the industry’s only Environmental and Safety initiative , a three-level product certification program for manufacturers, has retained members meeting the highest recognized standards for organic labeling.

Natura World and Organic Mattress, Inc. (OMI) are two SSA members featuring organic products in their respective showrooms, located in spaces A-946 and C-1515, at World Market Center. Naturepedic, specializing in youth bedding, and Innomax, with its mattress line focused on therapeutic benefits, will have independent spaces within the SSA showroom on the 13th floor of building C.

Bedding buyers will additionally want to stop in the 650-square-foot ‘Organic Pavilion’, also located within the SSA showroom, which debuts Aug. 1 – 5.

At least a half-dozen suppliers, including Suite Sleep, Sleep and Beyond, Supreme Quilting, Urban Woods, Latexco West, and Fabricadabra – with complementary products ranging from mattresses, top of bed items, wood furnishings, latex cores, and decorative pillows – will be showcased. Each vendor meets the highest certification standards relative to the products they manufacture, including certified organic, fair trade, low carbon footprint, and organic latex designations.

In part, the new display area was conceived to help retailers envision a different way to sell to this highly targeted audience, according to Angela Owen, owner of Suite Sleep and chief organizer of the Organic Pavilion. “The organic products will look designer-ready,” said Owen, “We want to dealers to know that merchandising this category does not have to be bland or boring.”

While in the new space, market attendees can learn more about the SSA’s Environmental and Safety initiative, where an information kiosk will be situated.
